Hi, I’m Yan (she/her). I’m an Assistant Professor of Psychology and Biology and a Weill Neurohub Term Professor at UW Seattle. At heart, I’m a neuroethologist interested in the evolution of social behaviors and their underlying mechanisms. I did my undergrad at Cornell, where I studied Biology, English literature, and Asian American Studies, my PhD at UChicago in Neurobiology, and my postdoctoral training in the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology department at Princeton. I think a lot about doing science differently, community building, and books.
