Hi, I’m Quincy (she/they)! I moved to Seattle from the beautiful Albany, NY, which is most notably the home of the world’s largest Walmart Supercenter. I have always been amazed by the diversity of life (even in a Walmart parking lot), and am especially interested in invertebrate brains, minds, and lived experiences. I studied biological neuroscience and creative writing at Union College. Along the way, I did research on death and dying in community-run care homes with Dr. Carol Weisse, and a thesis on mantis shrimp “seeing and stabbing” with Dr. Kate Feller. I feel very lucky to combine these interests by studying octopus reproduction and senescence in the Wang lab. Other than octos, I am excited about running, roadtrips, and public radio, but love spontaneous adventures with friends most of all.
