Nastacia completed her BA in psychology at Smith College and earned her Ph.D. in neuroscience at the University of Washington in the lab of Dr. Sam Golden. Nastacia’s doctoral work focused on the neural mechanisms of reactive versus appetitive aggression phenotypes in males and females, as well as the development of the open-source program Simple Behavioral Analysis (SimBA). Nastacia’s current interests include the impacts of climate change and heatwaves on individual and colony-level social behavior in bumblebees, as well as the neural and metabolic impacts of high heat episodes during development.
